Are you looking forward to breeding your goldfish? It would be nice to raise a few fry, but what would you do with hundreds of fry?
There will be no doubt when your goldfish reach breeding age. The males will chase the females relentlessly, mucking up the water in the process, and if there are no females available, the males will chase each other. Some males are aggressive, others are not, so prepare to have areas available for the female to escape to and rest. Make sure you have the tank or pond covered to prevent the goldfish from jumping out to their deaths. |

Goldfish are mature at 3 years old but they can breed as soon as they are one year old. I always recommend to hobbyists who want to start breeding their gf to
breed them as soon as possible because these fish tend to die on us often for no reason. So the sooner you get them to spawn, the sooner you can secure the
bloodline. Then, if your fish live up to over 3 years old, you will have gathered the experience.
